Launches New DVD Media for Consumer Multi Media and Professional Storage
Applications
Singapore --15 July, 2001-- Good news for
consumers waiting for the latest in DVD rewritable technology as
TDK Singapore announced the launch of a new line-up of DVD media:
DVD+R, DVD+RW (rewritable DVD compatible with the +RW Alliance format),
DVD-R and DVD-RW.
The new DVD+RW media features a capacity
of 4.7GB and recording speed of up to 2.4X. It is compatible with
all available DVD+RW recorders whether PC-based or standalone DVD
video recorders. Whereas the new DVD-R is compatible of 2x-recording
speed that cuts the burning time to half on latest DVD writer.
As proof of TDK's commitment to supporting
all popular DVD-based formats, TDK has also launched a new DVD+R
(write-once DVD) in conjunction with the DVD+RW release. This popular
cost-effective media features the highest compatibility with all
existing DVD+R recorders and writers.
According to Toshikazu Yahata, Product Planning
Marketing manager with TDK Singapore, "From our previous experience
acquired from the launching of our DVD-Rs and DVD-RWs in 1997 for
the professional market and later on in 2001 for the consumer market,
we have found a clear demand for DVD-based media that emphasises
on uncompromising quality and compatibility with both existing and
upcoming DVD recorders."
Commenting on the new attractive packaging,
Toshikazu Yahata said, "The new packaging reflects the trend of
DVD recording becoming a lifestyle of the modern consumer. As we
are witnessing now, DVD recording is no longer limited to professional
storage, but is also a consumer storage media that is high in quality
and provides durability and fun."
